Monument-appropriate enclosure – "An der Biethe" secondary school in Dessau-Roßlau
The outdoor facilities of the “An der Biethe” secondary school were completed with the construction of an enclosure in keeping with the listed building.
The brick building, erected in 1903, was visually integrated into the outdoor facilities with a semi-transparent enclosure consisting of wall pillars and fence panels made of belts and ribbons.
The building connections were realized with arched brick walls.
Concept planning – "Quartier Biethe" in Dessau-Roßlau
With regard to the new user requirements and the associated, necessary standard-compliant conversion measures in the outdoor facilities, the following focal points were taken into account in the concept development for the “Quartier Biethe” in Dessau-Roßlau and incorporated into the planning:
- Planning of car parking spaces,
- Demolition/demolition of all garages, outbuildings and forecourts,
- Consideration of e-charging stations,
- Replacement of paths paved with large paving stones with functional path construction materials,
- Planning new seating areas with access routes, possibly using the existing large paving,
- Upgrading the play areas with new play equipment,
- Construction of a football pitch,
- Consideration of areas for the fire department,
- Renewal of the interior paths,
- Redesign of the waste storage areas,
- Preservation of the existing planting
- Planning of additional planting.
- In addition to fulfilling the brief, the guiding principle of the planning included the unity of aesthetics and functionality while taking ecological aspects into account.
The aim was to work out the optimal design and utility value for old and young and thus to increase the quality of living for young families and senior citizens, also from a marketing point of view.
